Pastor Jomo Thomas came to faith in Christ as a young man. While living in California as a youth a friend invited Pastor Jomo to an Awana meeting where Pastor Jomo accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 12. Pastor Jomo struggled to apply his newly found Christian virtues as a teenager growing up in Detroit, but by age 21 had began actively pursuing a renewed life.
While serving on active duty military status in the U.S. Army Pastor Jomo rededicated his life to Christ and began serving as an Usher in the Gospel Services located on Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque NM. Two years later at the age 25 Pastor Jomo accepted his calling to preach the gospel and began serving as a young minister in Joy Temple Apostolic Church under Pastor Michael Weatherly.
Over the years Pastor Jomo has served in several church’s in multiple leadership positions to include youth pastor, district youth director, Assistant & Administrative Pastor, and Senior Pastor.
Pastor Jomo and his wife Timika have been married for 7 years and together under Gods direction initiated a new church plant in Albuquerque NM. However due to health-related issues with Sister Thomas, Pastor Jomo resigned as Senior Pastor to obtain advanced medical treatment and care for Sister Thomas in Denver Colorado. After recovering successfully from both surgery and treatment God has blessed Sister Thomas with an outstanding recovery.
Pastor Jomo is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God Cleveland TN. Ordained Minister and Captain with the The International Police & Fire Chaplain Association, and is currently serving as a Chaplain to the Denver City Police Department
In addition to serving the Lord as a minister of the gospel, Pastor Jomo Thomas served 9 years in the U.S Army and Army reserves. Pastor Jomo has over 17 years of experience in social services and the behavioral health industry. Pastor Jomo is License Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Colorado and NM and has an Addictions Counselor certificate from National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC). Currently in his bi-vocational role Pastor Jomo works as a contractor for the United State Postal Services where he serves as the District Employee Assistance Program Consultant for the Colorado/Wyoming district.
Pastor Jomo also serves as Executive Director for Men Who Care Inc., and Board President and Ministry Overseer for the Dr. Caritha Roybal Educational Foundation in Uganda
